In 1991 Peter Hos founded The Green World. The first Green World Project consisted of giving support to and coaching Dewi Asri in Bali - Indonesia. With this private initiative the development economist was a forerunner in the field of fair trade and sustainable products.

Nowadays it is impossible for nurseries and many wholesale firms specializing in flower and plant accessories to imagine business without The Green World. Bouquet holders, wooden labels, wooden price tags: these fair trade products from Bali are displayed on the side or around our customers' products. The Green World products are handmade as far as possible; hardly any machines are used.  

The Green World works with sustainable material exclusively. Not a single tree is cut down without a new one replacing it. Our products are made of natural materials such as wood, bambo and palm leaf.

Naturally natural

We are highly aware of our packaging. At the moment sustainable packaging material is being developed based on rice paper, newspapers and palm leaf. We invest in the surroundings in which we operate with a green and warm heart. We invest in a more beautiful, greener world.

New opportunities.

The Green World is a profitable company. Our surplus profit contributes to the development of Indonesia. Our 400 employees are free to choose a project in Indonesia to invest our surplus profit in.

This has led to more than one local economic imnpetus. Of course, all expenditure is checked thoroughly. We offer employees who want to start a business of their own an opportunity in the domestic market. They can apply for a loan from the Green World to make a good start. Moreover, they can rely on our coaching for a period of time.

Fair.

The Green World stands for a righteous world. To local standards our employees earn an above average income. This accounts for the fact that our products are sometimes slightly more expensive than those of other manufacturers. We count on the strenght, knowledge and quality of our local employees and are truly proud of them.

To give everybody a fair chance we employ only members of a family. We help them save money for important events like weddings. Many of our employees work at home and often the entire family joins in to help. This is possible because nearly all our products are handmade. We keep a strict policy that forbids child labour.

Our customers.

Our customers are nurseries as well as retail and wholesale firms in flower and plant accessories. They are very kenn on using our products.

Therefore they buy their bouquet holders, wooden labels and wooden price tags from the Green World. They are willing to pay a little bit more for a sustainable product in order to contribute to a greener and more beautiful world.
